Working With Our Team

An Important Message For Clients

When we deal with clients in tough or stressful situations, we notice that sometimes they behave or think in ways that do not reflect their true nature as the loving and kind individuals we know they are. It’s important to us to integrate, educate, communicate and heal for the sake of their pets. In the best interest of our clients, their pets, as well as our veterinary team, here are important reminders that every client should keep in mind when working with us — or any veterinary professional for that matter.

When you choose Arya Animal Acupuncture, you are choosing the entire team of experts. Yes, Dr. Bhatt is the authority on integrative veterinary medicine who pours all of her time, thinking, and passion into caring and healing of your pets. However, Weronika, Ashley, Michelle and Meldina - our team - do so also. Dr. Bhatt is a superwoman, but she’s not mythical - she’s one person. She selected her team (of Superwomen!) carefully to ensure that their professional expertise combined with her core values extend through every one of them to all clients - making the team effort effective and at Dr. Bhatt’s high standards. Here are some important points that should be highlighted concerning veterinary technicians.

The Importance of Our Veterinary Technician Team

Veterinary team members are an essential part of any veterinary clinic, and they play a crucial role in the care of our beloved pets. They are highly trained professionals who work tirelessly to ensure the health and well-being of animals, and they are often the unsung heroes of the veterinary world. In this article, we'll explore why veterinary technicians are the leaders in our clinic, and why they deserve respect and recognition for their expertise.

Veterinary technicians are highly trained professionals. They are trained to perform a wide range of tasks, including administering medication, taking vital signs, drawing blood, and providing post-operative care. They are often the first line of defense in recognizing illnesses, and their expertise is invaluable in ensuring the best possible outcome for our pets.

  1. Veterinary technicians are leaders in the clinic when it comes to patient care. They work closely with veterinarians to develop treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure that all aspects of patient care are carried out smoothly. They are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the clinic, including scheduling appointments, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment. In many ways, veterinary technicians are the backbone of the clinic, and without them, the clinic simply could not function.

  2. Veterinary technicians deserve respect for their expertise. Despite their importance in the clinic, veterinary technicians are often undervalued and underappreciated. Many people assume that their role is limited to that of an assistant, and fail to recognize the depth of their knowledge and expertise. This is a disservice not only to the veterinary technicians themselves but to the animals they care for. Veterinary technicians deserve respect for their expertise, and recognition for the vital role they play in the care of our pets.

  3. Our team are key decision makers. Our veterinary technicians are not just assistants to Dr. Bhatt - they are an essential part of the veterinary care team. They work collaboratively with Dr. Bhatt to make important decisions about patient care, treatment plans, and even surgical procedures. They are often the ones who spend the most time with the animals, and their observations and assessments play a critical role in the decision-making process. In fact, they are often the first to identify changes in a patient's condition or behavior, and they communicate these observations to Dr. Bhatt. They work together with the Doctor to evaluate the information, and to develop and modify treatment plans as needed.

  4. Our team is often responsible for educating pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventative measures. They are able to communicate complex medical information in a way that is understandable to pet owners, and they work collaboratively with the rest of the team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

We value each member of our veterinary team and the important role they play in providing the best possible care for your pets. These skilled and trained professionals work together to provide the best possible care for your pets, and they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a positive and respectful working environment for our entire team, and for the benefit of the pets we all care for.

Mental Wellness

Dr. Bhatt has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of California and places great importance on the mental well-being of her team, her clients and their pets. A subject close to her heart is mental wellness in the Veterinary field. Not many people are aware of the impact our chosen field has on us as human beings. It’s important for us to treat every pet parent with respect and compassion, and it’s important that we receive that in return.

We choose to become veterinary professionals because we primarily love animals and want to be able to give them the opportunity for them to live their highest and best lives. This is borne from compassion and appreciation for all life. What pet parents do not often consider is the fact that we deal with the triumphs and the tragedies, just as they do - every day. As medical caregivers, we form a unique relationship with every patient. Every member of our team here at Arya Acupuncture is an Empath who takes on the burden of the patient’s illness and healing journey, or - if sadly it is a part of that journey - end of life. In fact, we are so in love with older animals and want to ease their burden that we specialize in senior pet care. If we’re not careful, we can suffer from impacts of compassion fatigue - which has a physical and mental affect on us. This is just one example of what we deal with. Veterinary professionals can also get burnt out, depressed, highly stressed... and the list goes on.

It is for this reason that we protect our team’s well-being - a healthy team means a healing team who are really effective in helping our patients heal. Isn’t that what we’re all here for?

Recent experiences have shown us that sometimes, pet parents take their frustrations and anger out on us. As a team who do everything possible for fur babies, who are always ready to provide as much information and every detail as possible, who take care of pet and pet parent - that is not kind, nor is it acceptable. Human being to human being - it is also not respectful. As a specialty integrative veterinary clinic with highly- skilled individuals, and it is also not the type behavior that we will accept.

A majority of our clients value working with our team because they see real results in the progress of their pets healing. We want to work with more clients like them - people who trust us to care for their fur babies.

We Support Our Pet Parents, Patients, and One Another with Respect and Compassion

Dr. Bhatt and the entire team ask our pet parents, respectfully, to keep in mind that your pet’s health is important to us. We would not be doing what we do if it wasn’t. There is genuine love, empathy and compassion in place for pets and pet parents.

We want to work with you to make sure that we get the optimal outcome for your pet’s health and your peace of mind. To do this, we must work together in complete understanding, communication, and synergy. It’s essential that our pet parents understand how we work, what we do — and that takes respect for the professionally- educated team at the clinic to ensure that your pet gets the best care, and that you are also cared for. This can only be accomplished through mutual respect.

On the Subject of Veterinary Interns

Dr. Bhatt Training Integrative Veterinary Intern Dr. Jung on Pet Acupuncture

Dr. Bhatt shows Dr. Jing, veterinary intern from Chi University, advanced veterinary acupuncture.

Arya Animal Acupuncture is an integrative specialty veterinary clinic that provides the opportunity for future veterinary professionals to do their internships and externships. We educate on laboratory skills, surgery and dentistry, acupuncture, integrative veterinary medicine concepts, herbal medicine, and laser therapy.

Internship

When a veterinary student is interning with us, we have them join in conducting acupuncture, animal massage, and various other treatments. Keep in mind, just as (human) medical students apply for internship training to specialize in a certain area, veterinary interns get additional training to specialize and gain experience in their specialized areas of interest. In other words, they are already knowledgeable about veterinary care, but are at our Clinic to specialize in specific areas, such as animal acupuncture, surgery, and so on.

Externship

We care about the future of veterinary medicine so we offer externship opportunities and shadowing opportunities for developing veterinary technicians. Veterinary technicians that complete externships with us learn all critical nursing skills, surgical monitoring skills, phlebotomy, the basics of integrative medicine and so much more! We encourage veterinary technicians from accredited programs to visit us for their shadow days as well as externship hours.
